Monthly Review

Monthly Review – March 2018

The month has gone by quick and it’s definitely been a busy month for me! Things have finally been looking up and I’ve been feeling more optimistic this year. For the last couple of months I’ve been struggling to find steady work and juggling multiple part time jobs, plus freelance writing online. However! I got hired at a university for a salary position with benefits and an opportunity to go back for my masters degree. I’m so happy I could cry, this is the break I’ve needed for a long time. I’ll be starting next week and hopefully this will just be the beginning of a much better year.

Enough of my personal life though, in terms of reading I’ve had a steady month. I’ve still been having difficulty really focusing on any one story for an extended period. Possibly because I’ve been so worn out with working so much and taking care of other personal matters. So my goal for next month is to finish the handful of books that I’ve started, because I’m halfway finished with a bunch haha. I hope you all have a wonderful reading month!

That little breakdown of the first paragraph of Haunted Hill makes me want to pick up the book. Too bad I have two books I’m trying to finish right now. XD

    1. Oh you definitely should pick up Hill House when you have a chance! It’s one of my favorite books that I read last year and Netflix has an adaptation in the works, I’m super hyped about it.

  4. I’m so happy for you Jamie! I hope everything else falls into place now that you have a good job. 🙂
You seem to be actually doing better with reading and blogging than I am. Keep up the good work!

    1. Thank you Litha, I’m so excited for everything that this year will bring, especially with how everything fell apart last year.

I wouldn’t say I’m doing better, it may look like I’m reading a lot but it’s mostly short poetry collections and graphic novels. All very easy reading that is easy to digest. It’s been therapeutic for me with the heavy load I’ve had the last couple of months.

I’m glad to see you reading and writing again, though! I love your reviews and always reference them when I’m looking at books on Goodreads. 🙂

  5. Evelina

I’m so happy you’re all set with that job, that’s so great 🙂 congratulations, again. And finally back to consistently blogging, right? All good things.

I’ve heard good things about Salt Line… I wonder why you didn’t like it! Curious, will have to see.

And thanks for sharing my post 🙂

    1. Thank you Evelina! Also yes I am back on schedule, starting to write posts again and definitely reviews. It feels good to be back. 🙂
